Thanksgiving & Weekend Outlook

If you are travelling tonight or tomorrow for thanksgiving, you should have relatively safe travel plans. Precipitation has largely moved out across the mid-Atlantic and Thanksgiving should be sunny and unseasonable warm. Friday and Saturday temperatures will be around normal for this time of year, topping off in the mid to low 40’s until a system sweeps from the west on Sunday, cooling temperatures off significantly. This system will start as rain but switched to mixed precipitation and snow on Sunday. I am not expecting accumulations to be high but the weather will complicate travel on Sunday.

Next week, the weather starts to transition to winter and the threat of snow will start to grow greater. Also, it appears as though cold and snow will be a greater threat in January and February than originally thought.

Stay safe and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  1. We are traveling to the Southern Tier very early Thursday and and glad that the trip home was already pre-planned for Saturday.
